Car Transport from Terminal Locations

If you have to take your car to any of these terminal locations, please inform your transport specialist so that we are able to give you an all inclusive price. However, we are not limited to shipping vehicles strictly from the terminal. In fact, most of the time we are able to get in and out of these major locations to provide you cost-effective door to door transport. This is beneficial for customers that are involved with the military and are not able to get away from the base to get their vehicle to the terminals. We are also able to transport vehicles to and from more than just the terminal locations listed above. We also provide transport in and out of Moncton NB, as well as in and out of other major locations in Canada.

Our adaptable routing and scheduling decisions give us the ability to meet various customer needs dependent on your circumstances. Through the support of our carrier network, we are able to set up the most convenient times for the collection and the delivery that coincide with your free time making it possible to cut out the waiting and the unnecessary driving. The said method not only guarantees a seamless and timely transport but also keeps the prices affordable and the service stable throughout Canada whether that means pickup at a terminal or right at your front door.

Vehicle Pickup by the Carrier

Once we have your order booked and your vehicle posted for dispatch our assigned carrier will reach out to your indicated pickup contact directly. It is important that if you need to change your pickup location or contact you let your sales executive know right away so they can inform the assigned carrier right away.

Regarding physical pickup of your vehicle, we need you to be aware of several things. Door to door pickup is available as long as our carrier truck can make it onto your road and has room to turn around if needed. If this is not the case then let your sales executive know so we can help come up with an appropriate plan for pickup. You also need to be aware that if we are picking up from a residential address, there must be someone physically present to hand over the vehicle to the carrier.

Who can be present for carrier pickup?

Life happens, and sometimes our plans do not coincide with the schedule of others. Many times there are occurrences where an importer needs to be on a plane at the same time the carrier is able to come and retrieve the vehicle. Though someone has to be physically present at pickup, it does not have to be the owner/importer of the vehicle themself.

You can leave your vehicle with a friend, family member, or even a co-worker if possible. If the situation arises where you need to change whom is going to be present for pickup, we can also change the pickup location. This change will not affect your current transport rate as long as the adjusted pickup address is near by the original location.

When the vehicle is picked up by the carrier, the driver will do an external inspection of the vehicle and take photos. This is called a bill of lading. The individual present at the time of pickup will review the bill of lading and sign it, indicating that the external inspection was performed by the driver before transport.

When is a terminal used?

In some instances there does occur a situation where the importer does not have anyone who can be present when the carrier picks up the vehicle. If this occurs on the Canadian side we have several carriers who have terminal facilities where you could potentially leave your vehicle at.

This option is not available for all provinces or areas, but your sales executive can help you determine the closest terminal facility that could be used for you. These terminal facilities are fenced in and your vehicle is inventoried by the carrier company as the vehicle awaits transport.

If this situation arises and your vehicle is on the U.S. side, a carrier terminal is only available in Blaine, WA and Warren, MI. If your vehicle cannot make it to either of these terminals then you will have to find someone who can be present for pickup. In the past there have been clients who have spoken with and been able to leave their vehicle at a dealership or company lot for pickup. In either of these situations we must be provided with the direct contact’s name, number, email, and any codes that the carrier may need to enter a lot.

Canadian Bonded Warehouse’s

Some vehicle imports into Canada require delivery at a bonded warehouse, while other importers may choose to have their vehicle delivered to a bonded warehouse. A bonded warehouse is a provincial facility that holds an individuals vehicle until the import has been self-cleared by the importer themself. Though many of these vehicle’s still have a portion of customs filing that happens at the border crossing, the main portion of the filing and paying of any dues owed to Canada is done at the time of self clearing.

If you are picking your vehicle up from a bonded warehouse, your sales executive will notify you in advance to delivery as well as provide you with a list of documents you will need to bring with you, and give you a run down of the self-clearing process.
